Pragati Sood Anand has emerged as a Kathak dancer who has been successful in discovering & shaping her dance with a distinct style. Pragati, an Honors Graduate in Sociology from the Delhi University, was formally trained in Kathak at the Kathak Kendra, New Delhi for twelve years under eminent Gurus. Her extensive training & dedication to the field is reflected in her skillful combination of expression, melody and rhythm which has astounded audiences, both in India & abroad.

Pragati, an empanelled artist with Indian Council for Cultural Relations, has not only wooed her audience through stage performances in India but includes a number of stints abroad in countries like Germany, Switzerland, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Belgium, Austria, Australia, Spain, Hungary, England ,South Africa, Myanmar, Thailand, Slovak Republic, Romania, Russia and USA.

A significant contribution to her field also includes the formation of Sampoorna, a group of young & talented dancers & musicians, who are working ceaselessly towards promoting Indian Classical dance through performances & workshops abroad and in Indian schools. She has also founded a training institute ‘Pratibambh’, to further the cause of artist heritage.

She has been honored with the Young FICCI Ladies Organization YFLO Young Women Achievers Award for 2012-13.

Pragati has been the first Indian to perform in the prestigious Harpa Cultural Centre in Reykjavik, Iceland.

Apart from being a performing artist, Pragati has been associated with fine arts as well. She has worked as a Director of the Art Centre, Rai Foundation and has conducted more than 30 art camps and discussion forums for young and senior artists in Delhi and Faridabad , Bhimtal, Sattal, Jim Corbett, Uzbekistan, Turkey and Bali.
